Palm Pre

I heard about this new phone from a friend and apparently it'sbetter than the i-phone so I decided to look it up and find out more. It's smaller than the i-phone when closed and slightly bigger when slided open. This is one thing that I prefer is the fact that it is'nt completely touch screen, it has buttons if you need them. It looks very sleek and the technology is extremely advanced. You can access the web easily and have more than one application at a time which is pretty impressive. It is perfect if you want to multi-task.

It loads the pages a lot faster than other phones especially it's biggest compeditor the i-phone.
It has nice gadgets with it. The most impressive one is a chager that you stick on the wall (no wires) and the phone just clings to it and charges! Don't ask me how because it's just like magic! However it seems to take practice and patience to learn how to use quickly and efficiently. It's not a straight forward phone and has loads of different applications so it's up to the person to decide whether this is benificial or a pain to have.

This is a brilliant site that gives you information on anything you need to know about the palm pre. The camera on it looks really impressive and you can get it in any 02 shop for 49 euro but you can only buy it if you become a bill pay customer. It will probably become pay as you go in time but will obviously be more expensive.

Things to note when buying a pc

First of all you should do a lot of reasearch and visit loads of different shops so you'll get value for money and a reliable computer. It would be advised to research the brand so you will know if it's a good make and suitable for your needs. It's also important that you get a good lengthly warrinty from the shop. If the computer is well built and reliable this should'nt be a problem. You shold make sure the pc has a high memory in it as this is where you'll be storing your photos, music, work files and anything you need to save. If the memory is low you won't be able to save everything and the computer will become slow to use. The RAM (random access memory) is the memory that allows you to open more than one program at a time like you can have you tube, facebook and microsoft word open on tabs at the same time. If theres very little ram it will be slow to open each tab and your computer will be slow to work.

If you are a hard core gamer who plays the x-box and play station, a graphics card would be a good thing to get when buying your pc. It greatly improves the images from the games and makes the picture a lot sharper which will help you enjoy the game to the fullest. If you like watching films on the computer you can get a lead that goes from the pc to your tv called HDMI (high definition multimedia interface). If you have a high definition tv you can watch video downloads from the computer.

Another thing to note when buying your pc is security packs. Its important that you get one of these as it protects the computer from viruses and hackers. Some people have very important documents and bank details so the last thing they want is someone accessing their private information. These are the steps I'd take when buying a computer hope it helps!

Cyber Bullying-The Facts

http://www.cyberbullyalert.com/blog/2008/08/cyber-bullying-statistics-that-may-shock-you/

This is a link to a cyber bullying help website. This is a subject that I found interesting and wanted to read more about. The articles in it are easy to read and some of them are written in bullit point form so you can easily get the facts. For example did you know that girls are more likely to be bullied than boys, over 40% of children with internet access were bulled last year and only 15% of parents know about cyber bullying. These facts are shocking but very real and growing problem in the world today. Cyber bullying can occur when people use technology like mobile phones, computers and didgetal cameras to deliberately hurt a person by nasty texts, embarressing photos or mean comments on social networking sites.

Inappropriate photos and messages can be put online for the world to see within seconds and can't be removed by anyone but the person who posted them. In most schools, camera phones are banned as in recent years cyber bullying has increased as it is such an easy way to target people. It seems to be an easier method of bullying rather than confrontation that is why it seems to be favoured by girls who can be very cruel with words. The article I read made some very good points and had links to other websites to help children and parents deal with this problem which I felt was very important as people need help when faced with cyber bullying.

It also has links to other sites and even psychologists you can contact which I thought was helpful and infomative. It is laid out simply so its easy to read and access so I would recomend checking it out if you would like to find out more about different psychological organisations around Ireland.
